Our Director
Io Jacobson BA LLB (Hons)
Io is an Immigration Lawyer and Qualified Education Agent Counsellor. She has a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Politics) from the University of Queensland, a Bachelor of Laws (1st class Hon) from Southern Cross University, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from Australian National University.
Io has always had a keen interest in migration law, having lived in both Japan and Mexico for some time. She has international work experience designing English learning curriculums and providing consultation services about Australia as a destination for international education. Io believes passionately in the transformative power of a good education and has integrated this passion into Turnstone’s vision.
In her spare time, Io practices martial arts and chases her dog along the majestic beaches of Northern NSW.
Ieda Fontoura
Ieda is a Brazilian Lawyer. She has a Bachelor of Laws from PUC-Rio and a Certificate of Legal English from the University of California in San Diego.
Ieda has a lived experience of migration systems, having traveled around the world for a year and lived in United States for some time. She has acquired a personal understanding of the Australian migration system after moving to Australia in 2019. Ieda truly believes in finding justice and common good through the Rule of Law, she has worked in Law firms for over 3 years and has published articles on Family Law and Legal Theory.
Ieda is a certified yoga teacher. In her spare time, she enjoys running, practicing yoga and reading under the sun.
